Bio frameworks for founders, creators, operators and marketers, ready to fill in.

How it works

What is the Twitter Bio Template Library?

The Twitter Bio Template Library is a free set of 66 fill-in-the-blank X bios for founders, creators, operators, analysts, marketers and builders. Pick a group, press Fill in on a template, type your own words into each bracketed blank, and copy the finished bio. A live count shows when the bio goes past X's 160-character limit.

How to use the Twitter Bio Template Library

  1. Pick the group that fits you: Founder, Creator, Operator, Analyst, Marketer or Builder.
  2. Read the templates. Each part in square brackets, such as [company] or [audience], is a blank for your own words.
  3. Press Fill in on the template you like and type into each blank. The preview updates as you type.
  4. Watch the count next to the template, which turns red past 160 characters, then press Copy.

What makes a good Twitter bio template?

A good template carries the structure and leaves the facts to you: what you do, who it is for, and one reason to believe it. Every template here has that shape, with square-bracketed blanks where your company, audience, numbers and results go.

Each one leaves room under X's 160-character limit once it is filled in. If your words run long, the count turns red before you copy.

Should a Twitter bio be professional or personal?

It depends on why people follow you. If they follow for your work, lead with the work and add one personal line at the end. If they follow for you, lead with you and keep the work to a phrase.

These templates lean professional: they are written for people who use X to build a business, a following or a career. Swap a blank for something personal where it fits, such as the city you work from or what you do on Fridays.

How long should a Twitter bio be?

X allows up to 160 characters, and a bio does not need all of them: one or two lines a visitor can take in before deciding whether to follow. These templates run short on purpose, so your own words have room.

The count beside each template measures the bio as it stands, blanks included. A blank you have not filled yet counts at the length of its label, such as [audience], so the number changes as you type. It counts each character once, so treat it as a guide and check again in X's own editor if a bio sits close to 160. If you want options written for you instead, the Twitter bio generator drafts up to eight from your audience and role, and the Twitter font generator styles a name or a word in bold or italic.

Which group of Twitter bio templates fits you?

Pick the group that matches what people would follow you for. Founder templates lead with the company and what it does for its customers, and suit anyone building a product or a business. Creator templates lead with what you make, a newsletter, a podcast, videos or art, and how often it comes out. Operator templates are for people who run teams and processes, such as chiefs of staff, COOs and RevOps leads.

Analyst templates put the data and the method first, for researchers, economists and data people. Marketer templates lead with a result, such as a metric moved or a launch shipped. Builder templates are for engineers, designers and indie hackers who share what they are making as they make it. Each group has 11 templates, so you can compare several before you fill one in.

You do not have to stay in one group. Plenty of people are a founder who also writes, or an engineer who also runs a newsletter. Fill in a template from each group that fits, then keep the stronger first sentence of one and the proof line of the other. The finished bio only has to read as one voice and stay under the limit, which the count next to each template keeps an eye on while you edit.

How do you add a template to your X bio?

Fill in the template here, press Copy, then open your profile on X, choose Edit profile and paste into the Bio field. Save, and the new bio shows on your profile straight away.

A few templates end with a [link] or [email] blank. You can fill those in, but your website has its own field under the bio on X, and a link there does not use any of the 160 characters. If the bio is close to the limit, take the link out of the bio and put it in the website field instead. Before you save, read the finished bio as a stranger would: it should say what you do and why to follow without any other context.

Every template copies as a single line. To split it, press Enter between sentences while editing the bio on X. Each line break counts as one character, so a three-line version of the same bio uses two more characters than the one-line version. Short lines are also easier to scan on a narrow phone screen than one long run of text.

Can you copy and paste aesthetic symbols into a Twitter bio?

Yes. Symbols such as stars, moons, hearts and dividers are Unicode characters, so they paste into an X bio like any other text. These templates leave them out on purpose, so you can add your own between the lines once the words are right.

Use them lightly. Screen readers can read each symbol aloud by name, which turns a row of decorations into noise for anyone listening to your profile, and a symbol takes room from the 160 characters. The count beside each template counts every code point, so a flag or a combined emoji can count as more than one here. Check the finished bio in X's own editor if you add several. The Twitter character counter shows how X weighs symbols and emoji in a post.

What should you leave out of a Twitter bio?

Leave out anything a visitor cannot use to decide whether to follow. Long lists of hobbies, strings of hashtags, "views are my own" with nothing before it, and follow-for-follow requests all take room without saying what you post.

Vague titles are the other common gap. "Entrepreneur", "thought leader" and "passionate about tech" could describe millions of accounts. The templates replace them with blanks that ask for specifics: a company, an audience, a number, a past role. If a blank feels hard to fill, that is usually the part of the bio that matters most.

Take one Builder template as an example: Engineer at [company]. Building [thing] with [stack]. I post what I learn the week I learn it. Filled with a real employer, a real project and the tools you actually use, it tells a visitor your job, your subject and what your posts will be like, in under a hundred characters. The same person writing "Tech enthusiast. Coffee lover. Opinions mine." has told them none of that.

Questions

Good Twitter bio examples
Good Twitter bio examples say what the person does, who it is for and one piece of proof. One Founder template here reads: Making [task] boring for [audience]. Founder of [company]. Build log every Friday. Fill in the blanks and it is a complete bio.
Twitter bio ideas for business
A business bio should say what you sell, who it is for and how to start. The Founder and Marketer templates here are built for that, with blanks for the company, the audience and the outcome. Put the link in the website field, not the bio.
Twitter bio ideas copy and paste
Every template here copies with one press of Copy. Press Fill in first to replace the bracketed blanks with your own words, so the bio you paste into X is finished and within 160 characters.
What are aesthetic Twitter bio templates?
For an aesthetic bio, fill in a template for the words, then add one or two symbols, such as a star or a moon, between the lines. A styled display name in bold or script letters adds the rest. Keep the words readable, because they are what tells people what you post.
Should a Twitter bio have emojis?
A Twitter bio can have emojis, and one or two can help a bio scan faster. These templates use none, so the words do the work. If you add some, use them to replace a word, such as a pin before a city, rather than as decoration at the end.
Are there Twitter bio templates for girls or personal accounts?
The templates here are grouped by what you do rather than by who you are, and lean professional. For a personal account, pick the Creator group and swap a blank for something about you, such as a city, a hobby or what you are reading.
Can I use the same bio on Instagram?
Mostly. An Instagram bio holds 150 characters, ten fewer than X, so trim a template that runs near 160 before you paste it there. The Instagram bio generator writes bios built for Instagram's limit.
How many Twitter bio templates are there?
There are 66 templates, 11 in each of six groups: Founder, Creator, Operator, Analyst, Marketer and Builder. Every one has square-bracketed blanks for your own details and fits within X's 160-character bio limit once filled with words of a normal length.
