X Profile Audit

A score for the profile itself: bio, link, cadence, audience and how posts land.

How it works

What is the X Profile Audit?

The X Profile Audit is a free tool that scores a public X profile out of 100. It runs five weighted checks: profile completeness, how clearly the bio positions you, posting consistency, the follower-to-following ratio, and how much of the audience each post reaches. Every check shows its own score, the reason for it, and one fix.

How to use the X Profile Audit

  1. Enter the account in the X handle field. The @ is optional, and a profile link works too.
  2. Press Run audit. The tool reads the profile and its recent posts.
  3. Read the overall score out of 100 at the top.
  4. Go through the five checks below it, each with a score, the reason for that score and a Fix line where there is something to change.
  5. Start with the check that scored lowest, make the change on X, and run the audit again.

What does an X profile audit check?

Profile completeness looks for a display name, a bio of 80 characters or more, a website link, a location, a header image and a profile photo. Positioning reads the bio for three things: what you do, who it is for, and one piece of proof, such as a number or a past company.

Consistency measures posts per week and how recently the account last posted. Audience shape is the number of followers for every account followed. Visible engagement is the share of followers who interact with the median post, compared with a benchmark for accounts of that size.

How is the X profile score worked out?

Each of the five checks scores from 0 to 100, and the overall score is their weighted total. The rules are fixed, so the same profile always gets the same score, and a change you make shows up the next time you run it.

The engagement benchmark falls as follower counts rise, because bigger accounts reach a smaller share of their followers with each post. A small account and a large one are each judged against accounts of their own size.

How do I improve my X profile?

Fix the bio first: one line on what you do and who it is for, and one piece of proof. The Twitter bio generator writes options to that pattern. Add a website link, a 400x400 profile photo and a 1500x500 header, which the Twitter banner maker builds from your own words. Then post at least once a day, on a schedule you can keep.

Grok answers from X, so the bio and the recent posts on an account are part of how AI describes the person or brand behind it. A profile that says plainly what you do gives it something accurate to repeat.

How much does each check count toward the score?

Profile completeness carries 25 of the 100 points. Positioning, consistency and visible engagement carry 20 each, and audience shape carries 15. A check's own score from 0 to 100 is scaled by its weight, so a perfect bio is worth more to the total than a perfect follower ratio.

Some bands are worth knowing before you start. Consistency gives full marks at 21 or more posts a week, 75 at seven a week and 50 at two, and caps the check at 25 when the last post is more than 30 days old. Audience shape gives full marks at ten followers for every account followed, 80 at two and 60 at one. Visible engagement scores 70 when the median post meets the benchmark for the account's size and full marks at 1.4 times it.

What is included in a social media audit?

A social media audit looks at an account's profile, what it posts and how often, who follows it, and how people respond, then sets one change for each weak spot. This audit covers those five areas for a single X profile, from public data, and writes the change into each Fix line.

A full audit usually goes further. It checks follower quality, such as inactive or fake accounts, compares the account with its competitors, and reads private numbers like link clicks and profile visits from the owner's own analytics. For the competitor side, run their handles through this audit and the Twitter Analyzer, which adds content mix and top posts.

What is the 4-1-1 rule on Twitter?

The 4-1-1 rule is a posting habit: for every six posts, four share or teach something useful, one reposts someone else, and one promotes you. It is a rule of thumb from content marketing, not an X policy, and it exists to stop an account from reading like an advert.

This audit does not grade the mix of posts. Its consistency check counts how many you publish and how recently, and its engagement check shows whether people respond. If the engagement check scores low on an account that mostly promotes itself, more useful posts between the promotional ones is the first thing to try.

Questions

How to check Twitter profile analytics?
X's Analytics section shows an account's owner details such as profile visits. For any public profile, this audit scores the parts anyone can see: the profile, the posting pace, the audience and the engagement on recent posts.
How to check if Twitter profile is private?
A private, or protected, X profile shows a lock icon next to the account name, and its posts are visible only to followers the owner has approved. A public profile has no lock, and anyone can read its posts.
How to check my Twitter profile link?
Your X profile link is x.com/ followed by your handle, such as x.com/spyc. It changes when you change your handle, so update any place you have linked it.
How to improve my Twitter account?
Write a bio that says what you do, who it is for and one piece of proof, add a link, a photo and a header, and post at least once a day. Run this audit before and after to see which checks moved.
What is X profile?
An X profile is the public page at x.com/yourhandle. It shows the display name, handle, profile photo, header image, bio, location, website link, join date, follower and following counts, and the account's posts.
Can someone see if you view their profile on Twitter?
No. X does not tell an account who viewed its profile, and running this audit on someone's handle sends them nothing. Apps that promise a list of profile viewers cannot get that data from X.
How to get Twitter analytics for free?
Every public post on X shows its views, likes, reposts, replies and bookmarks to anyone. For a summary across recent posts, this audit scores the profile and its engagement, and the Twitter engagement rate calculator gives the median rate by views and by followers.
Can I audit a private X account?
No. A protected account shows its posts only to approved followers, so the audit stops and says the posts are private. Make the account public, or audit a public account instead.
